About Us.
Andrew is originally from Auburn, Illinois, a small town near Springfield. He is a physical therapist and strength & conditioning specialist at RPI in Owensboro, Kentucky. When Andrew is not sipping coffee at work, you can find him working out, playing pickleball, or working on a new song on his guitar.
Kendra is from Traverse City, Michigan. She and Andrew met at college in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, where Kendra was a collegiate gymnast and studied graphic design. Currently, Kendra is marketing manager at a real estate company and coaches competitive gymnastics. Kendra is a runner, puzzler, plant mother and loves her a good rustic flea market & the great outdoors.
Andrew has a passion for where the gospel and fitness meet. “God made our bodies in his image and he made us to move! I believe by caring for our bodies we honor him and are a better version of ourselves. Exercise and strength training are some of the absolute best things we can do for our physical, mental, and emotional health. If we want to build a healthy culture for our families and communities, we need to start moving, and doing so properly.”
Why RE-Fit Co.
The goal of RE-Fit Co. is to help people improve their health & fitness, learning how to embed healthy movement and habits into their lifestyle. When brainstorming our vision for this, we continued to return to "re" words. The prefix “re” means to “do again”. We want to change the way we are thinking about health & fitness, figuring out how we achieve our goals by moving the way God designed us to.
In order to do this we must go back to the drawing board and “re”do how we are tackling our health & fitness. Being fit does not have to look like living in the gym, drinking protein powder nonstop, and having 3% body fat. Fitness is not about being the most ripped person you know, it is a lifetime pursuit of stewarding the body the Lord has given you. In this same line of thought, strength training does not have to be deadlifting a heavy barbell until you can't walk straight. We believe strength & fitness means handling what physical demands life throws at you and being resilient while doing so.
In addition to this, we believe a large part of our health is tied to our community. We are made to have meaningful relationships and people in our lives that encourage us and stand by us during hard times. This is where we add the company aspect of RE-Fit Co. A company is a group of people who are working together toward a goal. We want people to see the value of having community, realizing that our health is not just about our vital signs and body fat percentage. It is also deeply impacted by our emotional well being and the state of our relationships.
We hope that RE-Fit Co. helps you become a healthier, more fit individual to enjoy the life God has given you.
